You never give me your money...

Kiddo made this purse around Christmas time and just found it again in her toy box and has been obsessed with carrying it around.

Cara:  "Momma, what's in your purse?"

--I rattle off the contents of my bag--

Cara:  "Ok.  So I'm going to need your phone, some gum, some pens and pencils, your car keys and......all the money in your wallet so I can see if my purse will hold up."

I liked how she didn't need the wallet, just all the money.  She was disappointed to find that I didn't have any!  

What Brown Does for Bubs

Bubs:  "Momma, you know whenever you make brownies it looks like poop."

--I laugh--

B:  "Momma, you laugh whenever I say poop.  You think its funny when I say poop."

--more laughing--

B:  "Poop."

After making the brownies Bubs went to play baseball on the Wii with Cara...

B:  "mmmMMM!!  Cara!  Whenever you throw the junk I don't get any hits!"

In the rain

I was going to clean the kitchen.  I'm glad I waited until later!  

Bubba Bites

Some funny things Bubba said while getting tickled/having a pillow fight:

"Hey Mike...I got somethin for ya" (hiding a couch pillow behind her and then dropping it forcefully on his face)

"HEY! Stop tickling me! I SAID STOP TICKLING ME!!!! You're on my team, Momma. You're supposed to throw pillows, not be ticklish"

"Nice catch, big guy!"

Negotiations

"....And in the middle of negotiations, you break down."

A dinner conversation:

Bubs: Momma, I want a snack too
Me: You need to finish your sandwich
B: I don't want to, I want some strawberries
--15 minutes of negotiations--
B: the only way you are going to get me to eat that sandwich is if you give me a strawberry. A STRAWBERRY!!!
M: The only way you are going to get a strawberry is if you eat your sandwich
B: mmmmmMMMMMMMM! (with accompanying angry face and subsequent stomping off to her room)
--5 minutes later, a return to the conversation--
B: The only way you are going to get me to eat my sandwich is if I can eat a strawberry
M: You need to eat your sandwich first (I get up to put the strawberries away)
B: Don't you do that!! Don't do that!!!!
M: I'm doing that
--I proceed to the fridge to put the strawberries away on the top shelf and a chase ensues
B: That's not where you put them before (stomps off to bedroom again

I Spy

A friendly game of I spy in the dark.
Emily: "Hey Cara! Wanna play I spy?"
Cara: "Sure"
E: "Ok, I'll go first. I spy...my little eye....something that is green........and dark.......and.............in the dark-en-ness."
C: "Is it trees?"
E: "Yes."

Toes

Just in case anyone was wondering what to do with their gloves in the off season.

Cara from the backseat of the car: "We want scorn! We want scorn!!"
(Not sure where she got that one from)


Me: "Cara, it's time to get your shoes on"
Cara: "Mommmm! I can't! It's not my dream!!!"
Me: "........what?"
Cara: "It's not my dream!!!"


Cara: "Mom, I know you want us to stay little to the ground like babies because we're cute. But mom. God made us to grow and do our stuff as big people"
(This was in reference to some potty training incident. I had written down the quote and stuffed it in the pocket of some pants that I hadn't worn in a year or so and just found it. Better than finding money).

Me: "Cara you need to eat some more of your dinner."
Cara: "Momma, my belly is full of food."
Me: "Oh. That's ok, I'll just eat your dessert then."
Cara: "Weeeeeellll, see it's really only full of chicken. I can make some room really quick for those cookies. And if I eat the cookies then my belly won't be full anymore and I can have some more."

Mike: "Isn't Fanny a nice kitty?"
Cara: "Yeah, but where are her balls?"

Cara: "Mom, I've got work to do with my balls!"
(Said from the cart in Joanne Fabrics just loud enough to shock and appall som buffer moms and make them walk away very fast).

Cara is awesome!!

Vacation Adventures

We made a list at dinner of some of the things we want to do this summer. Add some suggestions if you have any that you enjoyed!

Camping out in the backyard and also camping somewhere else
Letchworth
Swimming (at a pool or at the beach)
Seneca Park Zoo
Ganondagon (a series of historical Native American hiking trails near our house)
Strong
Sonnenburg Gardens
Farmer's Market
Strawberry/Raspberry picking (know of any places?)
Genesee Country Museum (kids might be too young yet, but still an idea)
Red Wings game
Bike ride along the canal
Boat ride

That's our list so far. Any of those places will be fun but could be more fun with friends. Let us know if you want to come along!

Hooky!

Mike seems to think that hooky is spelled hookie, but I am too lazy to check even the online dictionary. Either way, we decided that Cara was being held at the Canadian border as a suspicious person and that's why she couldn't go to school yesterday. Instead we took her swimming with Emily and Abel. Emily even swam by herself (with those little blow up arm thingies) a few times!

A New Page

I got a fancy new digital camera for my birthday this year so I decided that I would make a new blog page to post some fun pictures of the girls and Mike and I. I didn't want to post them at my other blog because I use that page to gripe about nothing in particular and didn't want my girls to be associated with my gripes and grievances page:) Hence The Muscarella Chronicles!
